Easy to make, this creation can be crafted by children (with a little help for the sewing) or by adults who enjoy DIY. It also makes a wonderful personalized gift for Mother’s Day, for grandparents, or to say thank you to a teacher.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Step 1
Draw the different shapes of the bookmark (flower, leaves, circle) with a pencil or pen on colored felt sheets. Carefully cut out each element.
Step 2
Place the cut pieces on a sheet of white felt. Draw the outline, then cut the white felt.
Step 3
Thread a needle with colored thread and begin embroidering simple details on each part to add a touch of color.
Step 4
Cut a piece of elastic to the desired length (suitable for a book). Glue the two ends of the elastic together. Let it dry
Step 5
Add the felt composition, and sew it directly onto the elastic.
Step 6
Your floral bookmark is ready! Slip it around your book to hold the page and enjoy this beautiful handmade accessory.
