Frog Puppet with a Cardboard Cup
In this new craft activity, we will transform a simple cardboard cup into a frog puppet! The children can then unleash their imagination to tell incredible stories to their parents, friends, or teacher.
An easy children's craft that is just too funny!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a frog, you will need:
- A cardboard cup
- Two green pom-poms
- A fabric bow tie
- Two green chenille stems
- Two wiggle eyes (Ø 1.8 cm)
- Two strong cards (red and yellow)
- Paint (dark green and light green) + a brush
- A precision cutter
- A black marker
- A pair of scissors
- A glue gun
Step 1:
To start, paint a paper cup with dark green paint (frog's body) and light green (frog's belly).
Then let it dry for 20 minutes.
Step 2:
WARNING this step may require the help of an adult.
Using a precision cutter, cut around the cup leaving a tab of about 1 cm to create the opening mechanism.
Step 3:

Cut a small hatch at the back of the cup.
Step 4:
Pass the caterpillar through the small opening cut in the previous step, then glue the end of the caterpillar underneath the cut part using a glue gun.
Step 5:
Glue two green pom-poms to the top of the cup.
Step 6:
Glue two movable eyes (Ø 1.8 cm) onto the pom-poms and a fabric bow tie above the frog's belly.
Step 7:
Cut a strip of red paper approximately 1.5 x 11 cm.
Cut a crown from a sheet of yellow paper.
Step 8 :
Wrap the red paper strip around a pencil and then glue it with a glue gun underneath the cut-out part.
Step 9:
Glue the yellow paper crown.
Step 10:
Using a cutter, make two holes on each side of the cup, then thread a green caterpillar through to create the arms.
Wrap the ends as shown in the picture.
Step 11:
Finally, draw two nostrils with a black permanent marker.
