Paper Octopuses and Seabed
In this craft, we will show you how to make beautiful octopuses using paper and yarn.
A simple summer activity to do with children from a very young age!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To create a nice marine board, you will need:
- a strong white card (A4, 300 gr/m²)
- solid gouache sticks
- colored cards (A5)
- a hole punch
- a stapler
- a pair of scissors
- yarn
- eye stickers
- alphabet stickers
- a black marker
- adhesive dots
Step 1
Create the seabed on a strong white paper using solid gouache sticks (light blue, dark blue, white).
Tip: color half of the paper light blue, the other half dark blue, and use the white gouache stick to create a nice gradient between the two blue areas.
Step 2
Cut a colored A5 sheet in half (lengthwise).
Step 3
Staple the strip of paper to create a roll.
Step 4
Use a small hole punch to make holes (about 10) at the bottom of the paper roll.
Step 5
Cut pieces of wool about 20 cm long that we will use to make the tentacles of the octopus.
Step 6
Fold a piece of wool in half and then pass it through a hole to pull out the loop.
Step 7
Pass the 2 pieces of thread through the loop.
Step 8
Pull the two ends of the thread to secure everything.
Step 9
Attach a piece of thread to each hole to create all the tentacles.
Trim the wool with a pair of scissors.
Step 10
Decorate the octopus by sticking 2 eye stickers and drawing a smile with a marker.
Step 11
Stick the octopus to the seabed with 2 adhesive dots.
Step 12
Customize the board by writing the artist's first name with stickers.
