This Canson block contains twenty sheets of Mi-Teintes pastel paper in four shades of grey: pearl, lunar, flannel and trianon. The paper is dyed through, contains cotton and is acid-free. Each sheet has two sides: a honeycomb texture that holds pastel, and a fine texture for pencil drawing.
Uses: The coloured background does half the work. Pastel stands out on grey, charcoal softens, and sanguine warms up. Highlights are drawn with white pastel, shadows with charcoal. The honeycomb side grips the medium, while the fine side sharpens the line. The block is glued on one edge so sheets stay in place while you work.
