Take out the solid gouache sticks and stickers for a super simple spring activity to do with toddlers! The children will line up circles to form a happy caterpillar. A perfect activity to learn how to make circles and recognize colors while having fun.
The little extra touch for this activity is the stickers: we stick colorful flowers and little ladybugs around the caterpillar to create a spring decor. It’s a simple and fun idea to do at school or at home.

How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To carry out this activity you need:
- white paper sheets
- solid gouache sticks
- eye stickers
- flower stickers
- ladybug stickers
- alphabet stickers
- a black marker
Step 1
Start by drawing a green circle to the left of the page for the caterpillar's head.
Note: the gouache sticks with their wide heads make it very easy to draw circles. An ideal accessory for learning shapes and colors for the youngest ones!
Step 2
Continue the caterpillar by drawing slightly overlapping colored circles.
Step 3
Stick 2 eye stickers on the first colored circle (on the left) then draw the antennae, a smile, and the legs of the caterpillar with a black marker.
Step 4
Personalize the picture by writing the little artist's name using alphabet stickers.
Step 5
Stick flower and ladybug stickers to add even more colors to this lovely spring picture!
