In this fun and easy Christmas activity, children will enjoy making charming little elves to hang on the Christmas tree!
To do this, they will use small wooden logs, festive patterned Christmas papers, stickers, and pipe cleaners.
This craft is perfect for sharing a wonderful creative moment with family.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a hanging decoration you will need:
- a slice of wood Ø 7 cm and a string
- a strong card with Christmas patterns
- a thick chenille Ø 9 mm
- a white pompom
- stick-on eyes
- rhinestone stickers
- a fine tip black marker
- a strong glue stick
- a pair of scissors
Step 1
Choose your patterned paper and then turn the sheet over.
Place half of the wooden edge on the edge of the sheet (the hole facing up) and then trace the outline with a pencil.
Step 2
Cut along the line, then glue the patterned paper onto the edge of the wood.
Step 3
Drill the paper to reveal the small hole of the wood edge.
Step 4
Place a pipe cleaner underneath the patterned paper and then twist the two ends of the pipe cleaner behind the wooden edge to hold it in place.
Step 5
Cut off the excess chenille stem.
Step 6
Glue 2 eye stickers along with 2 rhinestone stickers to give the elf a cute touch.
Step 7
Draw a smile with a black marker.
Step 8
Glue a white pompom with the extra strong glue stick to complete the elf's hat.
Step 9
Attach the golden cord (provided with the wooden slices) so that you can hang the little elf on the Christmas tree.
