In this colorful and gentle activity, children will create an adorable spring bouquet by molding pretty little flowers with lightweight modeling clay. They will then assemble them on sticks to place them in a mini metal bucket decorated with lace ribbon and a self-adhesive felt flower. How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make flowers with modeling clay, you need:
- Silk Clay modeling dough
- a mini metal bucket
- a felt flower with adhesive backing
- adhesive lace ribbon
- colored wooden sticks
Step 1:
To begin, shape 5 balls of modeling dough of the same size, in the color of your choice, to create the "petals".
Then, form a smaller ball for the center of the flower, in a different color.
Step 2:
Assemble the 5 petals around the smallest ball to form the first flower.
Tip: our modeling dough adheres perfectly without having to press the shape; you can assemble them gently.
Use about 4 grams of modeling dough per flower (you can make approximately 10 flowers with a 40-gram pot of Silk Clay dough)
Step 3:
Insert a wooden stick into one of the flower petals.
Tip: Push the stick in while gently twisting it to avoid distorting the flower.
Step 4:
Add modeling dough to the bottom of the small bucket.
Note: as the modeling dough is air-drying, this will stabilize the flowers once dry.
Step 5:
Repeat steps 1 to 3 to create several flowers in different colors. Then, plant the flowers one by one in the pot.
Step 6:
Finally, stick some adhesive lace and a felt flower onto the pot.
