How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make magnets, you will need:
- flower-shaped cookie cutters
- acrylic markers
- self-hardening modeling clay
- a rolling pin
- plastic wrap
- a protective mat
- a nail file
- magnets
- a glue gun
- gloss varnish
- a brush
Step 1:
Form a ball of modeling clay and place it on the protective mat.
Step 2:
Roll out the ball of modeling clay using the rolling pin to achieve a maximum thickness of 5 mm.
Tip: do not create too much thickness, as the flower may become too heavy for the magnets.
Step 3:
Place plastic wrap over the modeling clay, ensuring it is as smooth as possible.
This trick will help achieve flowers with a lovely rounded 3D effect.
Step 4:
Press the clay with the cookie cutter of your choice to create the shape of the flower.
Step 5:
Remove the plastic wrap and the excess clay around the flower, then let it dry for 24 hours.
Step 6:
Once the flowers are dry, file them with a nail file to achieve a smoother finish.
Step 7:
Now create the patterns of your choice on the flowers using acrylic markers.
Step 8:
Add gloss varnish using a brush to achieve a durable and shiny finish.
Step 9:
Finally, glue a magnet to the back of each flower using a glue gun.
You can now decorate your refrigerator with your creations!
