Decopatch Birdhouses
This beautiful raw wooden birdhouse is ready to be personalized according to your creative desires!
With some Decopatch paper and glue, you can easily transform it into a unique and colorful piece.
What is glue varnish?
It is a simple and fun technique: you cut out pieces of decorative paper (like Decopatch), glue them to the surface with a brush and glue varnish, which serves both as adhesive and as a protective glossy finish.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Step 1: Prepare the base
Apply two coats of white gesso on the birdhouse to achieve a smooth, clean, and even surface.
Step 2: Cut the Paper
Tear or cut pieces of decoupage paper in patterns of your choice.
Step 3: Glue the Birdhouse
Apply a thin layer of glue-varnish on the surface of the birdhouse to be covered.
Step 4: Glue the Paper
Place a piece of paper on the glued area, then immediately apply a thin layer of glue over it to secure it well.
Step 5: Cover the entire birdhouse
Repeat steps 2 to 4 until the entire birdhouse is decorated.
Step 6: Let it dry and admire
Once the support is completely dry, your birdhouse is ready to be hung or displayed.
